Breaking News Today: Five people, among them a child, were killed and more than 200 others were injured in the wake of a car rampage at a Christmas market in Germany City eastern city of Magdeburg, authorities report.

Criticities, many people were injured, said Reiner Haseloff, the premier of Saxony-Anhalt state during an interview with reporters on Saturday. German media said thirty-one people were severely injured.

Haseloff said this while briefing the Nation’s press on Friday and was able to reveal some details about the suspect, who was arrested, is a 50 year old Saudi citizen who has been living in Germany City since 2006 working as a doctor.

During an interview with German paper Bild, Nadine said she was at a Christmas market with her boyfriend, Marco, when she saw the carcoming at her.

‘He was hit and pulled away from my side,’ the 32-year-old man said to the paper. “It was terrible.”

Lars Frohmüller, a reporter for German public broadcaster MDR, said to BBC Radio 4’s World Tonight: “I saw blood on the floor and many doctors doing everything to warm up the people and treat the wounds.”

German media named the suspect as 39-year-old psychiatry specialist, Taleb A, who resides in Bernburg, which is 40 Km from Magdeburg.

He was born in Saudi Arabia but came to Germany in 2006 and in 2016, he was accepted as a refugee.

He operated an Internet site to support others who had left Islam escape from oppression in their gulf States of origin.

It is proved by posts that he made on social networks, showed that the suspect has hatred towards Islam and supported various conspiracy theories concerning the plan to create an Islamic state in Europe.

At the time when the incident happened the Magdeburg’s football team was participating in the match against the Fortuna Dusseldorf team.

Friday’s case raises the concern on growing cases of people being attacked at Christmas markets in Germany.

In the same year by December 19, Anis Amri, a man originally from Tunisia, who had had his application for asylum refused, and who had contacts with the IS, used a truck to kill 12 people and to injure 49 others when running them over in a Christmas market near to a church.
